Getting to Port Douglas Daintree can be half the fun. Most people choose to
fly, then either rent a car or, in many cases, just a bicycle. Cairns
International Airport is the sixth busiest in Australia, so it’s easy to get
domestic and international connections through Asia and all major Australian

If you arrive by plane make sure your accommodation package includes
transfers from the airport. It costs around AUD$120 to get a taxi to Port
Douglas, otherwise ask us to arrange transfers. Safely, it takes about 1 hour
to drive from Cairns to Port Douglas along one of the most beautiful coastal
drives in Australia. Most visitors rent a car for at least part of their stay
to make the most of the area’s self drive destinations. Rental cars are now
allowed north of the Daintree River, giving you access to Cape Tribulation and
the eco resorts.
